Dr. Christen Scott is a clinical psychologist who no longer practices traditional psychotherapy. After receiving her doctorate in 1999, she worked in a variety of settings and with a range of psychological issues and disorders as well as with marriage and family therapy. That has created who she is and the work she does today is related directly to her training as a yoga instructor and trainer. Dr. Scott is an avid student of yoga philosophy and meditation, especially how they relate to healing mental distress.
After years of study and mentorship, she became an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500, Yoga Alliance). Blending these two worlds of psychotherapy and yoga has resulted in her brand, the Yoga Shrink: an incorporation of yoga philosophy and mindfulness in a mental health framework. Her coaching philosophy is that you know what you want and already have everything you need.
She will guide you to discover the answers for yourself through thoughtful, powerful questions. Her intention in working with you is to help you see that you are a powerful creator of your life. Dr. Scott will offer you tools to take action to help you step into your BEST life.Learn More
Join us for a special Thanksgiving Day Karma Class benefitting The Neighbors' Place.
The Neighbors’ Place (TNP) is a homegrown community center providing a hand up to residents of Marathon County and the surrounding communities. In 1989, TNP was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization after nearly a decade of effort by members of several area churches that came together to address some of the needs they saw in our community. Their mission is a simple one: to be “People Helping People.” We are here to work collaboratively, listen respectfully, and care actively – treating everyone who comes through our doors with dignity.
Together we have raised thousands of dollars for the Neighbors Place through this event. It has become a holiday tradition for many to attend class and give back to our community. We hope you'll join us!
Class size is limited to 24.
Suggested donation: $15 (can be pre-paid online)
If you prefer to donate the day of the event, please be sure to register online to hold your space. This event always fills to capacity.
